Undugu is a Kenyan fair trade company that gives many local people access to international markets. People like Rebecca Bosibori. She makes products such as the Plan Shop heart boxes from the Kisii stone, which is typical of the African country and is known here as soapstone. She learned this skill from her mother when she was growing up in Tabaka, the center of soapstone production. The soft, cream-colored stone is quarried locally and transformed into individual pieces of jewelry through carving, grinding, polishing and painting.

Thanks to Undugu, Rebecca Bosibori is well paid and earns a regular income for herself and her family. But Undugu does even more: the profits are invested in social projects. There are also workshops on product development and information events on the topics of fair trade, health and safety in the workplace. In short, Undugu lives up to its name: solidarity.
